I’m not a doctor, but the GD didn’t really effect me. However, they tried to give the baby formula almost immediately because of low blood sugar. She was borderline low so I asked/insisted they let me try and nurse her more to see if that would work.
Did it "work" PP? I. Ant believe you'd put your baby at risk against medical advice.

FTM so I really don't know how this works - I thought I needed to line up an Ob to deliver me? Or should I just go to Sibley and have anyone deliver me there? I'm a little confused about this too.

Yep solo practitioner. When this all blows over I'll probably post something here about him so high risk/GD moms can avoid him. Super unbelievable experience so far.
Your solo practitioner doesn’t have privileges outside of Sibley? Mine (Dr. Brendan Burje) delivers at Georgetown for high risk pregnancies, and at Sibley otherwise.

Foxhall never mentioned inducing me early and I was measuring ahead 2 weeks the whole time. They were wonderful. I delivered at Sibley.
OP here. Ob officially dropped me and is sending me to find a doctor through my MFM who's recommending a doctor that delivers at Shady Grove. I really don't want to go there....was there a particular doctor you liked at Foxhall? Thanks!

You're considered high risk. You should be transferred to an MFM to monitor and deliver your baby. That is actually what should have happened through your OB once they can no longer handle your case. Talk to your MFM about it.
Anonymous wrote:Why isn't your MFM delivering you? They're better equipped to deliver GD babies. They are usually trained to break the clavicle of the baby if it gets stuck due to GD and being too big. Your OB should have transferred your care.
