You could send a very low key reminder to anyone who hasn't RSVPed. Sometimes paperless post/evites go into spam filters, so if you email the non responders individually, you might pop on their radar screen.

I have not had good luck with RSVPs and have in at least three instances been taken aback with unexpected arrivals (including <UGH> uninvited siblings!), so I would not get too worries. I would send a reminder to all who RSVPed the day before, just to help reinforce...

OP here reporting back- we had 8 kids come so it was a small party but everyone had fun.

Until the piñata when my DS was so excited that he was clapping and watching his friends pick up the toys he had picked for them. Afterwards he realized he forgot to pick anything up- cue meltdown.

Op I’m so sorry! My DD struggles with birthday parties too and it’s awful. I can usually manage her expectations around her own party but not getting invites to classmates’ parties really stings. We have never RSVP’d no to a child’s bday Party unless we are out of town.

I think the PP above has a good strategy - make the party itself really cool and make it enticing for the parents by offering to do the driving.

Your son sounds so kind and sweet. Wish we knew him and could attend!

Parent of 9 year old son with ADHD/HFA, last year we invited most of the class to laser tag late afternoon, Sunday. Had a great turnout and he has no friends. Worth every penny. Perhaps for next year.

I found late afternoon Saturday is the best. I have been doing 4-6 Saturday and generally everyone can come.

Crazy how it perfectly describes what I felt. Except I had a warning my plane ticket would be to Holland, but as an optimist, I didn’t believe it and boarded the plane anyway...
