Mexico more fun? Does Mexico have a Thrasher's and Purple Moose Saloon?

So for $1k plus the crazy expensive (but terrible) food in OC, you're looking at close to $1500 for 48 hours. You could rent a condo for a week for that much and just buy the same groceries you do at home (not that you want to eat the same way on vacation - but the cost could be comparable to not going away)
we are aware of the cost. We have stayed in condos for 10+ years. We don't want a week anymore. We don't want to drag our sheets/towels for a miniweek.
Thanks for your concern. We are looking for a shorter 2-3 day beach stay at a hotel that is ocean front, in good condition and has 2 queen beds, near restaurants. We don't want to drive 5 hrs for a short beach trip. So, that means OC rather than VA Beach.
You can rent sheets and towels. Much easier.
