Is ASFS walkable from Lyon village/Clarendon with a stroller? We just moved here and will have a 5mo in September. I’d assumed I’d be walking DC1 to school but now I’m not sure.
Baby carrier for the steps
Or kiss your kid goodbye at the bottom of the steps. Kindergarteners do not need to be walked into the building/to their classroom by mommy and/or daddy.
I wouldn’t do that for K. Maybe a little older.
Well, mine took the bus and survived.
Does the ASFS bus drop off at the bottom of these stairs?
Actually I think they drop at the bottom of 14th and then kids walk up hill without a side walk, scale the playground fence, and enter around the trailers. Parkour Immersion.
Relentlessly unfunny.

Can APS make exceptions and provide busing for parents with small children? Would it be considered a disability or special need?
As has previously been stated, OP is almost certainly eligible for bus service, based on her location- not a 'special need.' But she doesn't want to but Larla on the bus, she wants to walk.
OP states in the beginning that she is in the walk zone.

Mine as well. Days that I drove DD, she walked in by herself. At ATS, parents aren't allowed to walk their child into the building, unless there's a good reason (helping them carry in a project, supplies for an event, etc.)

LMAO. No. The district is focusing right now on reducing bus costs. I'm surprised they don't just start charging for bus service. I grew up in CA and we always had to pay to use the bus.
