UVa has become out of reach for many hard-working instate students and that makes me sad. Instead, they take money from internationals and out-of-staters. They have done little change that. I’m an alum.
Maybe they should increase the class size.
The grounds can’t handle it. They need to increase in-state admission. They also need to expand offerings online. That is what a board member did, even going as far as to get Teresa Sullivan the boot. She was reinstated after the snobs got her back in. Let’s make UVa, a supposed public university for the students of Virginia, elite again.

Anonymous wrote:If you went to UVA and your kids attended strong schools all of their life, isn’t it a bit underwhelming they can only get into the public flagship? Better than being a dope smoking layabout, sure, but a kid born on third should be able to progress a bit more.

+1. I think it's
1) the U of Maryland students and graduates
2) the parents of UVA students who didn't get in
3) the UVA applicant students who didn't get in
4) The Virginia Tech students (there's a long-standing rivalry between UVA and VT)
5) The NoVA parents who are frustrated that they pay so much in taxes but can't get their kids into the top Virginia universities (who didn't even bother to apply because their child doesn't have the 4.40 GPA, and 33 ACT)
6) all compounded by the recent statistics of how difficult it was to get into VT this year.
For a more accurate feel, watch the threads on College Confidential. Some say results will be posted at 6:00 p.m. today. https://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-virginia/2062370-uva-class-of-2022-rd-decisions-p4.html. Good luck to those who applied!
I think it's one person who has way too much time on their hands. It seems like a lot of people are into UVA.
College Confidential just reposts the updates the dean gives on twitter.

A superintendant actually implied that the stress from trying to get in was causing serious mental health problems.
40% admissions rate. The links that get shared here all the time show that Fairfax and London have higher admissions rates than the state average.
No. Admissions rate for EA class of 2022 was only 27.8%. https://news.virginia.edu/content/uva-releases-early-action-decisions-spawning-social-media-tsunami

No one is impressed by you admitting that you'd pick a school based on a basketball Team. ?
I have never been impressed by any UVA grads. I have hired kids from nearly every other school in the area over thevarrogant UVA grads. Never been let down by any of them. News flash UVA is not all that great.
Are UVA grads interested in your McJob?
