This avoids the big conflict of blocking someone, but I don't have to see their stuff and they don't get to see any of my posts I'd rather not hear their commentary on.

I am the same in that I like having space and both of my ILs comment all over my stuff and make me feel smothered (and friend my friends). However, I don't block them in order to police what they are posting in regards to my kids. If I didn't have kids, I would totally block them.
I am the one who first said I just block her because she's annoying - same reason - smothered - perfect word! When I post something of the kids or family that I want her to see - I tag my husband. Then she sees it. Now that I think about it...why does it work that way?
I've been meaning to check my Facebook privacy settings anyway due to all the Cambridge Analytics stuff...
