+1. I couldn't even get through the whole video. It's ridiculous, and I would be highly annoyed and approaching livid if this happened at the school my child attends during Black History Month. I wish someone would name the school. That teacher needs some additional training on the history and purpose of BHM, but not sure if that would even be helpful if they actually chose this video.

Haha! It did not even occur to me to try to finish the video.

The school is an “up and coming” or has come EOTP dual-language school.

I was furious, but went directly to the principal about the distasteful segment during the performance.

Last year our elementary school did a performance about African Americans and music. Each grade choose a period of time and song to perform. Hip hop was highlighted. This year was African American activism. Each grade chose a historical period and talked about social movements. They read poetry, sang songs, and danced. My daughter sang "get up, stand up" by Bob Marley. Black Lives Matters was discussed. It was really well-done and prompted a lot of discussions at home and school.
