He has actually admitted to substance abuse. He skirts around specifics of what but says he had to change when his daughters got older and noticed he was always under the influence.

You know what helps you exercise hardcore when you’re in the middle of a huge tour that’s been go go go for over a year to not be exhausted? Drugs.
