LeBron James married his high school sweetheart. She is a very pretty woman but not the "trophy" he could have. LeBron and Roger Federer both seem really happy and drama-free in their marriages compared to most pro athletes and are able to focus on winning on the court.

Wow. That escalated quickly.

I work professionally with couples, many of whom are quite well off or on their way their. Here are my observations. People with actual wealth, earned or inherited, who intend to keep it, are very conservative in their dating and sex lives. They either come from generational family money, in which case various family members and minders have taught them their whole lives to avoid NOKOP, or they are high IQ, high industrious "doers", in which case they are smart enough to avoid losers. This applies equally to men and women.

Here's a secret that most people on this forum seem to want to prove wrong - wealthy people (true wealth, not high income or aspirationally wealthy) tend to have pretty good marriages. The kind of people who make the right choices in life about money and keeping it often also make the right choices about a husband or wife. This is reflected in the relatively small divorce rate for truly wealthy people. I keep saying truly wealthy, because I saw someone mention the country club. Those people often have no wealth. They display wealth they do not possess. THOSE men may have trophy wives, because they are about appearance, not practice. But truly wealthy men tend to pick wives based on criteria beyond JUST physical attraction. They don't want to get divorced. They actually don't want to cheat on their wives or have their wives cheat on them. That is how you lose your wealth. That is how you screw up your kids. These people are smart. They know what they are doing.

As to the basic question of attractiveness, it could simply be this. I deal with many attractive, well-put-together couples. They generally have healthy relationships. People in healthy relationships generally attempt to keep themselves as sexually appealing to their partners as possible for as long as possible. It is as aspect of maintains a healthy relationship. It is probably the case that wealthier people have more tools at their disposal to do this. They can build a home gym, give the kids to a nanny so they can do an hour of yoga every morning, etc. Three is nothing wrong with this. Again, it is a signal of a healthy relationship.

In my experience, wealthy people who are intelligent and interested in keeping their wealth tend to be in better relationships than the average person. That will probably shock a lot of you. But, then again, it seems as though many on here think that the guy driving a 200k sports car to pick his kids up is wealthy, when in reality the guy picking his kids up in a late model Lincoln Towncar probably has 100X that first guy's net worth. So you may be looking at a bad sample.

It certainly doesn't cost me anything to maintain my weight or my looks. My looks kind of came with my body when I was born, and I don't need a gym membership to stay slim. As for marrying a rich man, I never had any desire to do so. I wanted to marry someone who felt like they were made for me, and I did. I wanted happiness, and also no reason to ever have to go to a function requiring me to wear a dress. Score on both points

I'm guessing you're going with whatever popular culture determines is/isn't appealing as opposed to what actual people think because there are a lot more poor people than rich in this country and poor people do use the adjectives "hot" and "attractive" when describing their own despite not having the money for facials and surgeries and fancy aesthetic accessories...so are non-rich people just wrong in their assessments or (as usual) are we totally discounting their perspectives/opinions?

They are age-appropriate, reasonably attractive women who were accomplished in their own right before meeting/marrying their husbands. Both seem to make good partners for their husbands; I think both men married very well.
