Was this an arranged marriage? Did you not know what he did for a living, how he spokes or how he commands a presence or not?

Let me guess -- desperate for marriage and babies and he agreed so you went with it, and now you wish you had held out for a CEO of a regional company type of guy - even though when you were dating that guy wasn't calling?

We all have inner expectations of others, no matter how many times we silence them, they pester us again. It's the human condition. Surely, your husband can't be 100% perfect. It sounds like he's A+ as you say, in all other areas, so there must be something to keep you both humble
But also, I think it's pretty attractive when a man doesn't care about what other people think he should do for a career. He does what he enjoys. Sounds like he knows himself and is confident enough to be true to himself. A lot of people can't say that. Try to see it as a admirable quality
Of course, if he's not even happy in the job he may consider something different, but...it would be a discussion and ultimately his choice.

LOL. I married a man exactly like my father with an impressive career. So basically, everybody ignores me at social gatherings because DH gets all the attention, and the things that drove me nuts about my father continue to drive me nuts about my DH.
