Perfume, (but actually smell it first & get something you really like) Or lingerie (but not something too fitted, that may not fit). One year he got me a beautiful pink, silk robe that I still have. I personally don't want something "useful" like a sports item or craft item that I buy myself. I like something with a meaning or something he finds appealing. I usually get him the chocolate, that we all share.
My DW doesn't like me buying her lingerie. Says it is a gift for me, not her. I tell her to tell me what kind she would like and I get no response.
What your DW really wants for Valentine's Day, and every day, is for you to listen to what she is saying.
zzzzzz.......try again, but this time, as a mature adult who can actually communicate directly.

What is your wife’s love language, or how does she like to feel loved.
If DH bought me a nice pedicure, that I could enjoy kid free, it would be in that $50 price range and I would really enjoy it. If he bought me flowers and chocolate, that would be nice too but I wouldn’t nessicarily want that. I’m having his car detailed. Over the “budget” we set but he desperately needs it, and it will provide him utility
