DH frequently adds a day to his trip if he is near good skiing. It is a great opportunity. Traveling for work has its perks and its hassles. Take advantage of the perks.

OP - tell DH that’s he’s going to take good care of the kids and house on X weekend so that you can go off with your friends and go skiing or whatever .

Good for him! My husband works very hard and when he has to travel for work somewhere interesting I always encourage him to stay and explore and do something fun. Are you home with little kids? I’ve been there- just get s sitter and do something with a friend or for yourself. We all need breaks. If you don’t have kids, you need to get a life. Marriage is about helping your spouse be the best version of themselves. Taking some time to have fun is important for all of us.

I would be jealously annoyed, but way too embarrassed to show it!

I often stayed over Saturdays on business trips in Europe because it was a lot cheaper to fly home on Sunday vs Saturday, and my company was cheap. I also didn't mind a day to look around the city.

I don't blame how you feel. If you're not having fun, how dare he have any fun? You should both spend the rest of your marriage miserable. Together. Mutual boredom and misery is the best.

Why do you have "nothing to do"? Don't you live in the DC area?
