I hope you have told your children not to discuss the results (good or bad) at school with their friends. It leads to all kinds of hurt feelings, bullying and boorish behavior. Of course, parents should feel free to brag anonymously here if they want.
They've really been trying to go for the Saturday arrival so that kids are at home with parents. A couple years ago the letters arrived on Friday and some parents opened them and then texted kids results (good and bad!) during school hours. Kids that got in were bragging, kids that didn't were crushed (and some got made fun of), kids that didn't know were freaking out - it was an awful day for the kids in the magnet program. Please, tell your children not to share results, especially over social media, for a few days. I know that eventually they all share, because they want to know which schools their friends are going to. But this weekend and Monday are really tough days for so many students.
