I normally would not recommend this but I would do it. Teach him a lesson. My ex would try to help and ruin washing my clothes. I finally gave up and stopped doing any of his laundry. He learned his lesson.

I need my DH to read this thread! He thinks I’m the one with the problem because I want a shit free home. He keeps shipping boxes and receipts even to Taco Bell for years! I’m like, “you really think you might need to return that burrito one day ??” Ugh it’s so frustrating with the clutter and junk piling up.

Wow that’s pretty bad. And I am a “throw out immediately” person. I’d actually suggest not fishing it out, and then she’ll have to deal with calling around to replace something (which we be super annoying) and then she will be more careful?

My DW throws away all of the mail every day, including checks and bills, so every day I go into the recycling bin and pull out the mail that we need. This has been going on for years. She says it all looks like junk mail to her.

I agree he's abusive and when she state "family heirloom" it's about control for him.

Yep. I have to throw out my wife's spoiled/expired food all the time, because once she puts leftovers (and half the food she buys) in the fridge, she'll NEVER think of them again. Same with things she sets down: once it leaves her hand, it is forgotten forever. Includes: grocery receipts left on counter, mail dropped here and there as she walks through the house, different shoes left by the front door every day, little candy wrappers left on the couch or in bed or in the car, catalogs scattered everywhere (hello: stores have websites these days). Maddening.

Sorry but I’m guessing you are really messy, and don’t pick up after yourself. Either that or DH is OCD.

I could easily see my DH writing your post minus the family heirlooms (weird)- he leaves his shit everywhere and I have to make an “educated guess” WTF it is, is it important, etc etc. i get it right 99% of the time but 1% no.

Just pick up after yourself and you won’t have to worry about it!
