Yep, so do black men. I've always felt like white women are the only ones who feel pressured to be thin.
I was born to the wrong culture. Sigh.

All his girlfriends before my mom, and my mom as well, have been the equivalent of a size 8-10. I’m pretty thin and petite (size 0 - 2) and he’s always said I was too skinny and looked like a little boy. ?
In what world is an 8-10 chubby? Not mine.

You obviously are not a man. A side from the fact I do not know other man that thinks and extremely thin women are a status symbol. Moreover, man don't use or look to the women they date for status, that's definitely a woman thing.
I disagree. I can think of at least 2 relationships where the guy married for status. It's not like the wives are ugly, but I think the extra bit of social status helped.
And can you seriously say that men don't care about status? Sure, some professional men will date strippers and hair dressers, but I actually don't know a single one who married that. Men marry women in their social level.
