2 toddlers in car seats and a tween (on weekends/summers) and we have an Acadia Denali. Should have gotten a minivan... I'm in a carpool with a mom who drives a Chrysler Pacifica and kick myself for not getting a van. The Acadia has 2 captains chairs in the 2nd row and tween sits in the 3rd row but sometimes has to climb in/out of the liftgate or she has a stroller in her face.

I think they are WAY easier to park than the behemouth Yukon and Denali sized SUVs

Infiniti QX60. We have 3 under 5 and they all sit in the middle row; when my parents visit, the seat moves forward so they can get in. We are in the minority, but we always rent a minivan when we travel and I prefer our SUV at the moment. I like the higher seat form driving. In a van we would have to strap one into the backseat and Lose cargo space in the back. I also found it a pain to maneuver between the captains chairs w/o hitting my head (and my parents had a hard time getting to the back). We maybe will reconsider in a few years when one or more can buckle themselves in. The sliding doors are nice though!

While we don't have a mini van (just 2 kids), we did check some out before buying our 2nd car (SUV with optional 3rd row seating). You should do that too before deciding you don't want one.

I was completely blown away with how nice the Odyssey was. Granted the price definitely reflected the one the dealer showed us, but if I needed to cart 3 around, I'd probably try to convince DH to buy one.

Schlepping kids around with all their school and sports gear and having to buckle everyone in/out seems so much easier with the mini van. Also, the doors are easier than traditional with all the tight parking around here. That said, I did notice they don't seem as great on snow, but you can't have everything. And this area seems to cancel school a lot if there is ice or heavy snow.

Good luck!

I live in the NYC suburbs and have the Sienna AWD. If that's the only thing holding you back from a minivan, check out Toyota. We drive north (practically up to Canada) to ski and it handles snowy roads and icy conditions beautifully.

Odyssey. Believe it or not, it has more room in the third row than the Suburban we used to have.
