i agree with this. among youngish actresses she comes pretty close to the ideal.

Kind of high cheek bones, not cute. definitely not blond. I could see Amal falling into this, as she has that Mediterranean look, but I know a lot of women from that region, and they do not age well, it is like one minute good looking, next a grandma. Definitely Gal Gadot. That is what it means to me.

No.

Sophia Loren was always considered exotic, not classic.

She is voluptuous and sensual.

A classic beauty is virginal, more waify or tall, even and symmetrical balanced features. Almost ice princess like. Grace Kelly. Audrey Hepburn. Iman. Halle Berry. Classic.

Christy Brinkley is not a classic beauty. She is a girl next door beauty.

Also who can forget Faye Dunaway when talking about bone structure?

How about redheads?

they can be. 'classic beauty' is not about coloring.

Redheads definitely. Rita Hayworth had red hair. Maureen O'Hara was beautiful. Jessica Chastain.

Anonymous wrote:Symmetrical features, good bone structure, and usually conventional taste in hairstyles and clothes. Nothing too extreme or exaggerated or "cute" (like Angelina's lips, which are out of proportion to her thin, angular face, or giant Kewpie doll eyes and a button mouth). People using this term in the west are probably thinking from a western perspective, of course. A "classic beauty" in Japan may mean something different (though symmetry is pretty universally admired).

^ P.S. there are great beauties who are not "classic" beauties. Sometimes an unusual feature can render the whole structure more sublime or arresting. When people refer to classic beauties (again, in the west), I think of someone like Betty Draper. Conventionality is key. Someone like Rooney Mara could be considered a classic beauty if she dressed and styled herself like Audrey Hepburn, but her taste is too avant garde for that designation.
