“Why would they not invite us?”
“They sent us a holiday card! Why would they send a card if they didn’t like us?”
“They just asked us to watch over their house while on vacation.”
I really don’t know why. No falling out. We are very friendly with them and have many mutual friends. We bring a nice bottle of wine - invite them over for drinks. But who knows?
Anyway, my husband doesn’t want to go to another party we have been invited to so I want to make staying in, building a nice fire, popping some champagne and cozying up with a nice movie night with the kids make for a fun way to ring in the new year.
Otherwise, I am just going to start drinking. Maybe starting at noon.

Don't know what you should do. Maybe have, as suggested, one of your invited friends ask your neighbor if you'll there, under some pretense that they have someth8ing to ask you..
What is with all these oversight comments? Can people really not track a guest list? It's not that hard.
It wasn't an oversight. You weren't invited...maybe you are socially awkward, maybe you lack manners, maybe they want a smaller party.
Because a lot of us live in the real world where people screw up all the time. Unless there was some sort of altercation between them this year, oversight is the most likely explanation for not getting an invite when they always got one before.
