Lol my husband said something similar. He said it isn’t as big of a deal as I am making it.
I guess it is bc I rarely go away without the kids. We stay at luxury hotels when we travel with the family. We are used to overpaying because we are forced to travel during school breaks so always paying peak prices.

+1. The lower budget does not extend to only the hotel. They will want to eat at lower priced restaurants, be more cognizant of the price of wine they order, not want as many spa treatments, shows, or activities as you would expect on a vacation
