Came here to say this immediately. 1984 version is really the classic version.

My dad makes us watch Scrooge every year, and I can recite that one line by line. George C Scott is the perfect Scrooge.

Fun fact, he was married to Colleen Dewhurst, who played Marilla Cuthburt in the Anne of Green Gables series. Love her too.

As someome who likes the novella, for me it's the Muppets, and it's because I like that they have Gonzo deliver some of the best lines from the book.

I subjected my teens to Scrooged last night in search of Christmas movie they hadn’t seen yet and it was godawful. Does not hold up at all.

I watched it this morning and sang along to the songs. Alone in the World is my favorite song. Love singing along to that one.
