When she brings it up, and the gap is rather large and I am the high earner, I remind her that we have joint accounts.

My DH makes about 4 times what I make but since I have a very high libido he never mentions it.

Is he self employed and you're fed or a teacher?

My DH made multiples of what I did but he never held it over me. He worked very long hours and I didn't so I really took charge of paying all the bills, managing our household etc., etc. He's always been very gracious in saying that I made his life easy so he could focus on his job and his family. I've never had a budget or allowance and he rarely, if ever, questions what I spend. It helps that I'm pretty thrifty. We both have MBA's and I'm sometimes a bit jealous of his career (it could have been me!) but I've had a wonderful life and can't complain.

Ouch, he divorced her and has moved on. Why the schadenfreude?

If your husband tries to use their salary as an excuse to do less house/child work they are a jerk.
