Unless you're a lawyer, why on earth would you want to access the GT law library (or any other law library)? It's specialized materials, and you have to know how to look and where to look if you're trying to research a legal question. And if you're not a lawyer -- please don't try to do your own legal research without training.

If you are on the campus for an event I’m sure you can use the rest room. Otherwise, given the location and set up of the law school, it’s unlikely you will be wandering by and urgently need to pee. When I’ve been on campus the buildings require a key card or have security.

Is it worth paying $250 a year? I live nearby, work out of my home, and sometimes go to the neighborhood library just to get out. I'm not in law. Is it like an airline club with amenities like coffee or is is just a library? Maybe just being quieter and less smelly would be worth it.

You know it's not about the money right? GT wants to screen out "unwanted" people from being there. Kinda like the border wall idea.

The campus and the hospital are widely known to be dumpy disasters (except the sports fields, hmm) - give them the money. Hopefully it gets better there.

Barnes & Noble apparently makes you pay for the books if you take them home, even just overnight.

I also don't think it's fair to have to pay for food, you should be able to go to whole foods and take what you want

GWU restricts access to their regular library to members of the GW community and those who attend other local universities. You can't get past the front door without an ID. (I don't know if they offer a community option to purchase)

AU allows the public free access to both the main university and law libraries. I know for the main library, you have to purchase a Friend of the Library at $300(!) a year in order to check out materials. Alumni have free lifetime borrowing privileges.

Georgetown's law library is in a sketchy area of town. A lot of transients from the bus and train station would move in if open to the public. It is private.

$250/yr for the GT law library is an inexpensive way to find a spouse.

I do not know if they still do it but American used to allow access to its law library for free, most likely because of its more remote location but their new location might attract too much traffic.

Go buy a snack at the Georgetown law school cafeteria and then you can use that restroom. I used to work near there and we would go
To the cafeteria for lunch when we wanted something relatively cheap and quiet. You will have to sign in to the building though.

There are public bathrooms at Union Station, not to far from there.

Why should random unvetted strangers be allowed to walk in to a private place?
