I'm the poster that's with CCRM and shared a positive experience. I'm so sorry your experience has been so bad, that sounds devastating. I can share the other names I found in my process that I would have set up visits with if I hadn't of ended up at CCRM. Dr. Frankfurter at GWU (doesn't deal with surrogacy so wouldn't have worked for me but I hear amazing things) Dr. Grifo at NYU, Dr Davis at Cornell, and if you have any sort of immune issues Dr. Braverman.

Thank you for the info. We didn’t have good experience at the CCRM virginia either. Dr Payson doesn’t believe in supplements- duh?!- and you need to corner him for information. Not what I want to have in my journey.

Hi, I noticed this post on the forum, and I thought I would provide my opinion. I've had a very compassionate experience with Dr. Moon and all of Shady Grove's staff. She is a really smart lady, and I feel comfortable with her decisions. Also if you ask her why she is making certain decisions she takes time to explain. Dr. Moon was recommended to me by my OB/GYN Dr. Gorman. I'm on my 4th round of IVF and headed into my third FET this month, so I've spent some time under Dr. Moon's care. Each cycle has been a slight improvement.

I've used Dr Moon for 3 unsuccessful IUI cycles, 1 successful FET w/ live birth, 1 failed FET and now am pregnant with another FET. I like her, she's patient and kind and friendly, but not as hand-holdy as other doctors. I agree that SGF doesn't like to deviate from its protocols - you have to push to get them to change them, especially early on. But they do have good success rates so I think it makes sense to trust them.

I called CCRM and was transferred to a nurse in Colorado and it took several emails and calls to get information. Maybe it's because they are new, but I didn't feel comfortable with their communication. We are getting ready for IVF/PGS with Dr. Waud at Dominion and have been happy with her and their staff so far.

I got pregnant with Dr. Moon. I liked how clinical she is, but I didn't like how she pushed us toward IVF when I was hopeful about an upcoming IUI (which didn't work, so perhaps she was right that we shouldn't waste our time). She is straightforward with your percentage chances. (Sometimes, even if you have a 60% chance, you don't get pregnant because someone has to be in that 40%.)

I received better information from SGF when we were doing IVF than when we were doing TI and IUI. Dr. Moon did not call us after TI and IUI failures, only after our first IVF failure. Now that we are already in FET-world for a sibling, I will go back to Dr. Moon. I am not expecting warm fuzzies, but I trust her. She may not be for you if you are apprehensive and want reassurance.

I'm really stunned at all of the negative experiences with Dr. Moon. I've done two IVFs with her and plan to do a donor egg cycle as soon as life calms down a bit. I've found her to be the perfect balance -- she has been very frank with me while also being quite compassionate and caring and empathetic. I also appreciate that (unlike a lot of medical professionals) she speaks to me like I'm a sentient creature who gets the final say in my medical decisions. My outcomes have been piss poor (3 embryos in 2 rounds at max doses, two different protocols) but that was not unexpected at 40 with a history of 3 missed miscarriages.
