Many would choose Berkeley over Brown, Dartmouth, Hopkins, Williams especially for STEM and CS.


For grad school definitely, but for undergrad not as many as you would expect. You would get a much more well-rounded experience and greater access to advising, mentorship resources at Brown, Dartmouth than at Berkeley.

For undergrad both the quality of the specific department and the overall undergraduate standing and resources of the school matter.
