+1. I wouldn't wear an unstructured ballet flat to an interview but there are plenty of very professional looking flats out there that wouldn't raise any eyebrows in an interview.
Exactly this. I live in unstructured flats at work but it's culturally acceptable unless you're going to big meetings. I keep a drawer full of structured flats and low heels for anything resembling a formal occasion, and I would certainly wear a formal shoe (flat or not) to an interviews.
But yest, heels are terrible for your feet.
