Honest question, not snarky -- why pay so much for these when you can get the same look in sterling silver?
NP: I’m allergic to many metals — probably nickel. So far I can wear platinum, titanium and niobium. While not all sterling silver is the same, it’s less expensive for me to invest in earrings that I know I can wear than to buy multiple pairs of less expensive earrings that end up irritating my ears.
Im the blue nile poster and this is exactly why I wear those in platinum. Most metals except platinum and 18k gold make my ear inflamed burning, itching, oozing etc... its worth it to me to get something I know will cause zero problems. These have held up wonderfully and are still pretty after 5 years of daily wear.
