How 'not fun' is u of c ? It's my DD's top choice. She does just study all the time, but it seems like college should be some fun.
We visited Hopkins and that seemed to be the least fun college of all time .
Where would be a U of Chicago alternative school that would be a bit of fun?
UofC is "where fun goes to die." I went there for grad school, my wife works there now. It is the well accepted joke among current students and alumni. Its also a fantastic school.

University of Florida.
It was paradise for me. Tough academically but not impossible, great weather, great sports, an hour from the ocean. I easily got jobs in Florida after graduating, and that job experience was a springboard to elsewhere.

And "Work Forest" - they try to flunk kids out of Business and Pre-Med to switch to Communications, English and History. No grade inflation like many other colleges -----even though it obviously does not attract Ivy League caliber.

Ha ha!! Tulane is know as the party school which is why they throw merit $ to top students to go there.

Vanderbilt is tough academically. No sugarcoated grade inflation like is the case at Brown, Yale, Dartmouth, Harvard, etc. According to Niche study, Vanderbilt students self-stated that they had the most rigorous workload out of a listing of the top 25 universities.
