That was my first post BTW. There are more than just me saying you have a mean girl. Sometimes the truth hurts. Your child is mean or hangs with the mean kids. Good news is that she is young and can possibly be turned around. Parent your child now because a 4th grader's kill list isn't nearly as scary as a middle schooler's kill list.

OP if I was a parent at that school and found you didn't call the police with all the info above and that child brought a weapon you are absolutely negligible. Someone needs to have Jeff find the IP addy for this post and send that as well so at least they can be notified to some extent.

I will and intend to. The phone call was last night. I'll give the school time to deal with it. When I follow up and if I cannot ascertain that the police was involved, I will call them.

Yes indeed I have. Please point out the quote that states shooters are justified in killing. The only thing that has been said is that OP can work with her daughter on being kind.

Are people actually thinking that a bullying girl is more of an issue than a kid saying he's going to bring a gun to school? A bullying girl should be dealt with, yes (don't know if this applies; OP, talk to the school about this) but a kid talking about a gun requires a report to the police immediately. No "giving a deadline" nonsense.

If you're getting an accurate story here, I think it's highly likely that this boy is in a bad situation at home. He may have been harshly punished at home for the lunch room incident and that's why he has reacted strongly and violently over what seems to be a run of the mill 3rd grade incident. Somewhere this child is learning violence and revenge rather than forgiveness.

NP. The way I read the OP was that the schools aid OP's daughter was "directly involved" meaning that she was the victim.

THEN, the daughter was the one who told the OP about the "kill list" because of course the school didn't release that detail.

I'd say calling the police is 100% the right move here. The school is incentivized to cover this up.
