University of Chicago has a long history of being welcoming to Jewish students and all others. Very friendly, cooperative student body.

I am a born and raised mid-westerner. Graduated from a mid-west "state u" -- and I think the PP is right. "Mid-western Nice" as long as you stay in a certain lane.
Lol. I went to Wisconsin and coastal Jews FLOCKED to the place.
Also, I can't speak for other college towns but Madison is crazy liberal, feminist, what have you. I actually felt rather out of place coming in as a politically apathetic, maybe leaning conservative individual.
