the thing about Lewes that I don’t like us that the beach and the town are separated by the Canal. You pretty much have to drive back and forth.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Agree with pp that Rehoboth is getting trashy now.
If you have small kids, your best bet is Lewis Beach. Sheltered bay and calm, shallow water.
+1 Except it is spelled LEWES. This is by far the best option with young kids (0-10/12 yr).

Bethany .. Thin very crowded beach, waves break right on the steeply dropping off shore, no bay just sprawling development that descends onto the tiny beach, Benny hill one piece Mecca.
Dewey.. Thin beach minimal bay view. College alcohol vomit in the street every morning.
Rehobeth ... Small extremely crowded beach, no bay views, sprawling development for miles. Boardwalk covers almost all of the beach, combo Benny Hill one piece Mecca / dudes kissing on the beach Mecca.
...said the owner of a tiny, decrepit condo in OC who is trying to justify his/her crappy investment. Everyone knows OC is trashy.
... said the owner or frequent visitor of Bethany which really shouldn't even be there anymore. They keep spending $$$ to replenish the beach every couple years and it keeps getting smaller.
I'm a DP by the way. Have fun being packed like sardines in Bethany and Rehoboth just so you can avoid the "trashy people" you love to look down on. I will enjoy the nice wide beach in north OC with super easy free parking and room all around me. The water was blue-green on Sunday and I was able to take photos of my kids by the water without anyone else even being in the frame. It's very easy to avoid the places where people get super drunk and rowdy and just enjoy the beach and bay.
Is someone really citing "best bikini contests" as a positive while being homophobic about Rehoboth (not Rehobeth)?
Uh, enjoy OC. Please.
Did you not see the part where I typed "DP"? As in I am not the person who said those things. I do not agree with those comments. You on the other hand seem to have a superiority complex. Like so many others in the DC area. Do you realize how many people hate us because of people like you?

Anonymous wrote:We just got back from Rehoboth. We went on the beach at the end of the boardwalk, not right at the end of Rehoboth avenue, it did not feel crowded. You can also go to Gordon’s Pond and park there if you want less crowds. I like the atmosphere in Rehoboth ( gay parents with one child) and think the shops are nicer. Also nicer restaurant options than OC.

I bc was just there. Very gay friendly town. Also a lot of townies coming to the beach by Rehoboth Ave.
