We call it Latin time or Cuban time or PR time, but she's right it's just the way we were raised. We expect it from each other (which is why our parties last for entire weekends, lol) & nobody within our culture gets mad, because again... its just expected.

Sometimes we forget when we're dealing with white people, because when you're generally around your own for so long, you do tend to forget that others live differently.

Growing up I thought everyone lived the same way... that is until I entered elementary school & I missed out on a bunch of birthday parties because we arrived really late. That's it why Latino birthday parties last for 12+ hours or more, lol.

However I promise you this OP, it's never done intentionally... sometimes we really do just forget. I can't imagine how frustrating it must be for you, but as they say "you can't reach an old dog new tricks" & this tardy trick has been engrained in us for many, many generations...sorry.
