Well first off, you wouldn't be calling "him" a he. She would be a girl. I suppose you'd rather she have her teeth kicked out in the boys bathroom? Try some compassion. It's not that hard.

OP-- did they have a translator available to translate from ALL CAPS OFF YOUR ROCKER HYSTERIA TO RATIONAL PEOPLE? If so, you would have seen that the resolution specifically stated that no changes could be made to current bathroom and locker room practices or regulations. Maybe you could find an actual problem to lose your sh*t over? Shortage of #MAGA hats, maybe?

But the problem the way I see it is that someone need only claim that they are transgendered to be treated as such. They do not need to prove that they are under a doctor's care/taking hormones etc. And while I think it is HIGHLY unlikely that a boy is going to pretend to be transgendered just to sneak into the girls' restroom, I can easily see how a confused, mentally unstable teen might think they are transgendered (since there is so much attention/publicity about it now) when they probably really aren't.

13 transgender people have been murdered so far in 2017. But yeah, people totally pretend to be transgender just to get all those sweet perks.

I still don't understand why we even have segregated bathrooms. You go in, close door. There is no nudity on display. Could easily put doors on urinals.

It's a lot more complex than you imagine. A kid who is transgender doesn't just decide one day to be the other gender and the school says "welcome to the girls' locker room." Investigate the process before you let your fear take over logic.

Safety aside, I don't want my girls having to expose their body to a boy next to them. Transgender does not change your biological sex or anatomy, these kids are still their original sex. The policy allows them to expose themselves to the opposite sex next to them at school.

My girls are uncomfortable enough changing in front of other girls, but there is no way they would change in front of a boy.

Give transgender kids a private space where they can't be viewed or view others of the opposite sex.

Leave the rest of the kids who want privacy from the opposite sex with strict sex separated locker rooms and showers (bathrooms too)!!

As an aside: Advanced special needs adults who stay within a public school system beyond age 19 are not taking freshmen gym classes nor are they playing sports. Mostly they are learning life skills like cooking, banking, cleaning etc., attending community college classes if capable and working at job programs.

Transgender kids are known to the school administration. Procedures exist in public schools for helping the kids where and when appropriate. Safety and well- being come first. Issues of parental knowledge and attitudes are a big concern. Lots of parents are accepting and supportive. A few might do violence to their kid if they knew. This is a long term process. Kids do not come in and say "I'm a girl today so I can go into the girls bathroom".

Finally, and thankfully, your kids know who the gay and transgender kids are, and they don't care.

That is not what this case is about.

But this is what could result from what the PWCS enacted. I think the tone of the OP's post is a bit hysterical, but the point is that there are some young adults (early 20's) who are still in high school and if someone of this age happens to identify as transgender they most likely can/would be allowed in to the girls' bathrooms/locker rooms. The idea of this does give pause to many parents.
