jumping on the bed in a hotel room lasts like 2 minutes and it is fun for my kids. the best time was when we were in this hotel in Minnesota and they had 3 beds in one room...
You're probably the type that lets them run up and down the halls laughing and disturbing everyone, too, "because it's fun for them."
What the Fun Family thinks that the other hotel guests must be thinking:
"Oh, goody gumdrops the 'Fun Family' is back from dinner! Don't you hear them shrieking down the hallway - what a hoot they are! I sure hope they jump up and down on the bed like they did this morning! That is sooo cute of them! I thought I was waking up to the sound of the ceiling caving in. What a riot they are! Hopefully we can become Facebook Friends before we leave this hotel. I'll bet they took some great fun family photos - would love to see those!"

You sound ridiculous making a connection between kids being allowed to jump on a bed in a hotel room to stealing, teen pregnancy, and flunking out of school. You're making it harder for the people that actually have legitimate concerns or reasons why they don't allow it.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:I've never thought about this! My kids would not even consider jumping on their own beds or mine. But when we go into a hotel room they can't resist the urge. What is it about hotel room beds that makes kids want to jump on them? Of course I tell them to stop but really, it happens every time! Funny.
Your kids have no doubt thought about it and realized that you're an inconsiderate moron who would think it's funny if they did it.
And in 10 years, from this PP, "... and my 17 year old boy was just arrested for stealing something from a store! And he constantly talks back to me! I've never thought about this! My kids would never even consider being disrespectful in the slightest when they were younger! But now they can't resist the urge. Of course I tell him to stop but really, it happens every time! Funny. Oh but what's not funny is that my 15 year old girl is totally flunking and she just told me she might be pregnant! To this deadbeat punk that my son hangs out with! I never thought she would get herself into a situation like that. And she has a fresh mouth too! What is it about kids acting like they've had no parenting? Funny."
Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:So what, her and her kids were jumping on beds in a hotel room. No, I've never done it with my kids but it clearly brought her and her kids some joy so what's the harm? And honestly, you sound like a smug b&Tch for saying the bolded. What exactly does her being 150lbs have to do with this at all. And FTR, that does not mean she is "big".Anonymous wrote:Why is this seen as a cute/fun/acceptable thing?
I just looked at my facebook. Someone I know from high school has a photo of her and her two kids jumping "breaking in the hotel room" (jumping on the bed.) She's not a small person (I'm guessing about 150 lbs.) Her kids are about 8 and 11 years old.
WTH?
Do YOU do this in hotels? Do you jump on beds in your own home?Seriously, people need to get a life and stop being so pretentious.
+1000
This is clearly posted to make fun of her (normal) weight.

How the heck does jumping on the bed disturb you?
Man this thread is full of all of DCUM's resident 'cranky old person yelling to get off their lawn' types.
I don't understand how its possible to get this worked up over what OTHER PEOPLE do with their kids in their recreational time that essentially hurts no one and is about experiencing a tiny moment of childhood joy and excitement with your kids. We could all do with a little more of that :-/
It disturbs me (and others) because it's usually accompanied by yelling, loud laughing or squealing, the clunking of the headboard or frame, thuds when they land on the floor, etc. and the behavior doesn't stop there. When parents let their kids do this it's usually a sign that decorum as a whole is absent. And hotel walls are PAPER THIN. I can't tell you how many times I've been on a business trip and disturbed by children who are old enough to behave therm selves and be quiet. This thread is equally as full of entitled, oblivious parents who think their little brats can do whatever they want and the rest of the public be damned, "because they're just kids!!!"
Anonymous wrote:Oh my god, you people are nuts. Of course we jump on the beds in a hotel and (occasionally) at home. It's one of the joys of childhood.
