Really? Merkel voted against gay marriage in world where we are fighting extremist ideologies.

Angela Merkel voted against same sex marriage on the snap ballot in Germany yesterday. She said although she wants same-sex couples to have the right to adopt, she believes "the marriage in in Germany's constitution is the marriage between a man and a woman." Yes, some are French Moroccans and French Algerians; those countries have a long association with France based on their colonial past.

Sorry, what? There has constantly been small conflicts since WWII ended, both when USSR was a counter-balancing force against the US, and when the US was the lone dominant force. History is a mixed back the further you go back as well - The rise and fall of the Mongol empire, a singular dominant force in Asia and eastern Europe was characterized by violence and brutality.

She's moaning about having to carry German's own weight, trying to rally other EU nations to do the same on their own, to be not completely dependent on the US. If Merkel/Germany take up the reins, the rest of the EU will constantly hold WWI/WWII over her head - these are the same countries that have laws against holocaust denial, their time is spent on worthless posturing and a self congratulatory culture.
