Anonymous wrote:Target carries a cheaper version of Stride Rite...we live those! stride Ez or something? Also, Carters now carries Stride Rite so you can use a carters coupon!
Anonymous wrote:Stride Rite is closing all of their stores. So this will be a moot point soon. You can probably get sales though!
Anonymous wrote:buying SR on line misses the point. At a good store they will actually give advice on fit. Every size 7 is not the same. I completely did the thrift stores for kids clothes. But we were shoe train all the way for everyday shoes. Sure Target is fine for a dressup pair but I wanted to know the others fit well.
Anonymous wrote:Definitely get some, they are well made and perfect for little feet, but maybe not for first shoes.
For first shoes, try Robeez or Bobux or other soft shoes.
DS has been walking for a month, and we have a pair of Freshly Picked Mocassins for everyday / daycare wear and a pair of Stride Rite sandals for "dressing up."
Shoes are worth spending $$ on, because they can really affect development.
On the other hand, most of DS's wardrobe is hand me downs.
FWIW, I got the Stride Rites on sale for about $20.

I have a pair of fabric sneakers for my one year old, and while the soles are in great shape, the tops look SO worn after a month. Maybe it's inevitable because he's still climbing stairs on hands and knees and tripping occasionally, so is scraping the tops of them a lot?
YES!!! I was so pissed because I bought these super cute $$$$ SKR shoes and the top layer totally flaked off after a couple wears. They look so beat up! Never again!

Which site? I look for specific ones at Amazon DSW or 6pm, but I don't find the ones DD chooses from the SR website. Aren't you limited in selection of styles if you don't buy from SR.com?
