It is equivalent to fantasizing sexually, but it involves the eyes and not just imagination. So if one thinks sexual fantasies is infidelity, then so is porn. In my uninformed amateur opinion, majority of couples would not think these two acts are acts of infidelity.

As a man, i've never in my life met another man who doesnt watch porn. I do however know a lot of men who feed their wives and girlfriends a bunch of BS about how they dont watch it, dont like it and find it morally reprehensible. Thats to keep their wives and girlfriends off their backs.

Is porn exploitative of the people acting in them? Mostly yes. There are many actors who are abusing drugs, many abused minors, STD, HIV, hardcore perversions.

Having said that - is watching porn infidelity? It depends on the couple. For some it would be infidelity (Duggar) for others it would be titillating entertainment. It depends if it is an obsession,or disrespecting the spouse,or affecting the marriage or impacting their real life.

As another poster mentioned that there are some stunningly beautiful porn that is being created aimed towards women. These "female friendly" porn create the fantasy of sexual intimacy within a relationship. Something like a visual "50 Shades of Gray" or other erotica.

What women and men want to watch are two different kinds of porn. DH and I watch porn occasionally and his taste runs to more hardcore, degrading, anonymous and opportunistic sex - almost like he does not want to empathize with the actors. My preference is to watch more of a story of two lovers. Seduction, pleasure, good looking actors with natural beautiful bodies, enjoying sex, playful and the action happening in the bedroom, rather than the a bar, gym, hotel, office or classroom.

The anonymity (sort of) and accessibility of free porn on the internet has made porn secretly pervasive and numbing us to the moral mores of the past. We are no longer shocked when we hear/see sex-tapes, affairs, sexual abuse, and casting couch stories of our celebrities, public figures or politicians.

For some age-groups and demographics porn can spice up their sex life because they can differentiate between reality and fantasy. For others porn is creating an unrealistic expectation of what sex will feel and look like. So, i guess my answer is - it depends.
