I know SO MANY 30somethings in the DC area who are partying it up! Gorgeous barree toned bodies, prestigious DC type jobs, glamorous galas and parties. They get dates ALL THE TIME. They also marry similar over achiever glamorous DC types and have beautiful weddings at Meridian House that are showcased on Washingtonian.
What alternate reality are DCUM-ers living where you can't wear shorts after 30 and are a spinster?
What the bananas?
You guys cant truly be serious???
I also have a 36 year old non glamorous friend who is single after dating a 28 year old. She gets bombarded with messages from guys in her friends group and EXes wanting to take her out.
You guys must be delusional!!

Both my kids were born after DW was 40. Both are healthy, very intelligent, and good-looking.
I wonder if it's lifestyle that makes women infertile so early (drinking, smoking, drugs, etc.)?

I just laugh at the people who post stuff like "can I ever find happiness at 32," "how to be hot past 30?" If you aren't finally settling into yourself and really hitting your stride in your 30s or somehow think you were a better version of yourself in your early 20s, you're doing something wrong. I am thoroughly enjoying my 30s.
Haha same here. I'm 37. My husband is 7 years younger. I love my job. I had a lot of fun in my 20s but wasn't comfortable in my own skin. I am also thoroughly enjoying my 30s.
Oh and FWIW - I'm 130 lbs with about 23% body fat. I work out a lot. It's actually VERY easy to stay toned if you eat properly and work out.
23% is toned??

Easy for you to say when you are married with kids and a career.
But even if you aren't, it's ludicrous to think you have passed the he of a)ever getting these things or b) finding happiness without them. This is what I have an issue with, the idea if everything you want isn't in place by 30 you're done. If you want kids and a career, keep working toward them and enjoy where you are in the meantime! It's still SO YOUNG in the grand scheme of things.
Yes but society and people in general don't think like that. When you hit 30, it is like you are expected to be married, have kids, a fantastic career and when you don't, you are made to feel like there is something wrong with you. Look at people's reactions on here at times when they hear of a single and childless 32 year old woman.
