It doesnt matter if WE would be Ok with it OP because YOU were not Ok with it. He had to poo (this can't always wait) and you left the room and all went well so why are you still dwelling on it and posting here for opinions?

DH pooped in our maternity/recovery room (whatever it's called) bathroom. It was awful. The retched stench stayed for 3 hours. I ended up standing outside the room every few minutes to breathe. When attendants came by, they found a reason to leave saying they'd come back later.
Ever since then, if we are in a room with one bathroom, such as a hotel room, he leaves and poops in a public bathroom, even if it is a lobby bathroom.
I am on team gross.

And you're getting exorcised over this?? Seriously?? Yes, a guy needing to take a crap while you are showering is very inconvenient and embarrassing. But if this is a big issue in your marriage then you have a problem. I do note that you mentioned you were staying in a suite. Most nice suites have a separate room for the toilet. Were you in a suite at a Motel 8?

People struggle in relationships all the time and things like this is where it starts. If you can't deal with your Husband take a crap with you in the shower why are you married to him. Seriously? This would have been a perfect opportunity to crack some jokes like "Oh honey, what crawled up in you and died" "Did you say something or was that gas". Yeah that's gross, DH would never want to do that and I would think it weird if he wanted to. Exception, if he's having stomach issues he might need to GO NOW! but then I'm hopping out of the shower and waiting in the next room.
And yeah, we're a close couple with no body hang-ups, but there's such a thing as class. you don't poop in front of anyone if you can help it.

While I agree with you that this was gross, at least he let you know prior to your shower.

In his defense sometimes the urge just hits and if he waits too long he may get constipated.

If there is only one bathroom, you either needed to get out and let him go or let him come in. When you have to go, you have to go.
