And I don't lie about my weight. I am very upfront I am packing way more weight than I was a year ago and I am taking steps to correct it. If I think someone is into me, even though I'm upfront about it, I make sure again before the first date. I don't want anyone to be unhappy with the date they get, just like I don't want to be unhappy. But if you want to see me do 20 burpees in a row on the first date to prove that I am athletic underneath, happy to do it.

Also, when asked, I am misrepresenting my cup size. I am still packing my DD bras, but the extra weight has added a cup size, which I am not happy about. They are fabulous, though.

Online dating -- turns out the gal is 4 sizes larger...

My 5'2" mom and 6'2" dad had a 6'5" son (my brother). I'm 5'8" husband 6'2". My Sons are 6' and 5'8". Go figure.

Anecdotally, I don't believe you. My mom was 5'2". Father stood 6'1". I fall right down the middle between them in height. I am 5'81/2".

Stop judging a man on his height would be a good start. It's one thing to have a preference and some things should be absolutes but I feel that within the framework that you mention this shouldn't be one of them.

FWIW I am above the average height but my father was shorter than my mother and it never bothered them.

Seriously, I find it amusing when men get all bent out of shape because a woman rules out men with certain physical features. Men do it all of the time. I've seen men rule out women for far less (physical things that aren't even nearly as noticeable as height). And the men themselves weren't even that attractive. But that's supposedly okay. But if a woman does it, then she's bad.

The reality is if OP isn't going to be attracted to this guy, then why bother? It's far better for OP to not meet up than to meet the guy, like him as a friend (with no physical attraction), and then get into that situation (you know, the one where the man likes the woman, but the woman just wants to be friends).

No, I don't think people should expect physical perfection. And yes, people should be open to people they aren't necessarily wowed by at first physically. But if there are certain things you KNOW you are going to have a hard time getting past physically (and especially if those are things that can't be changed), it's just a waste of everyone's time to go on the date.

5'6" to 5'10" is a rather large gap. If you like other things about him, go on the date. have an open mind. If you were already not that enthused, cancel.
