Op here, I know the point of Passover is to recall the Jews escaping Egyptian slavery but she talked to me like I had no idea what that was. I just listened intently but the whole time I was thinking 1. Christians have this story too, it's in the Bible. And 2, I'm black, I understand the gravity of slavery, no need to keep hammering it into me like I don't get it.

I think it's funny she would assume you'd never tried Matzoh before-- It was always a springtime tradition (with butter, cinnamon and sugar) growing up and I am born-and-bred Episcopalian.
