+1. I love to read Tailgate State stereotypes of what they think elites colleges are like. Clear as day they've never stepped foot on an elite campus.

Furthermore, Pay close attention to the body shape of parents as well. Tailgate state parents (esp moms) are way less fit on average than the moms you see attending college tour/visiting their kids on campus at top privates. Those moms are lithe.

I don't care about median. We've toured for the last two years all ivys and some state universities. I didn't notice any significant difference. There were plenty of out of shape kids in Harvard.

OP, "low grade" and "high grade" refer to things like gasoline. What life experience has brought you to the point that you would apply that concept to people? Or that you would expect others to? Lord help us all.

Some do, but how you look and what your parents look like matters more

So I would be cautious with some of these assumption. In dating, class is often a factor. Money marries money. To deny that would be naive. That said, I find it is only poor relations of a name family who are obvious about this. If he went to an Ivy and drops his family pedigree on the first date, politely end the night.

Definitely agree. I went to an Ivy and only the male legacies are somewhat like that. But many of the females had that attitude until they approached 30 and found that the pool of available Ivy men was getting very small. I married a woman who went to a small liberal arts school and then got an MBA (non Ivy) and is truly one of the brightest people I know. Plus she's very attractive and very hot! People at Ivies are bright but that doesn't translate into being smart and successful. My DW is very smart and successful.

I'm more accomplished than my Ivy grad DW. I went to a much frowned upon - at lest in DCUM -private and a Big State school. The reason is that I'm sociable and play well in the sandbox. DW not so much. She can be kind of a bitch. She works in Bug Law but two non-Ivy grads have made it to partner before her. It takes more than a degree to deliver.
