Hi, I agree with you.

Nope. Not to me. I got these big boobs when pregnant and I like them. Keeping them even if it means a little belly. Everything ditsnso much better and I look like a woman to my eyes. I wear a rash guard anyway since I'm light skinned and not a fan of all the sunscreen. DH likes it better too (or so he says, he must be blinded by the chest). 135lbs at 5"4' and DDD. (Used to be a C)

I know I can't spot reduce, but really there is not much else for the fat to come from! I am pretty darn thin. I guess I am a classic apple shape with skinny limbs and prone to a round belly.

I don't think I'd be able to sustain it, but boy would I love to have a flat tummy just for one last summer. But I just feel like I would be a raging bitch depriving myself of every delicious thing to eat.

Your body sounds like mine. Even when I'm really skinny (like even when I was 14 and 5'4'' and 90 lbs), I have a rounded belly rather than a totally flat one. When I was a teenager, this used to drive me nuts because even though I was thin, it didn't look like the media's perfect body. When I got older, I realized that a lot of men didn't care that my stomach wasn't totally flat, and in fact found being slim with that roundness around my belly to be hot, even in swimsuits. It's mostly women who insist that the only way to look great in certain dresses/bikinis is to have a totally flat flat stomach.

Maybe your body is different, but for me getting so thin that my belly would be totally flat would involve looking skeletal. I'd lose weight from anywhere (especially boobs) first.

I cut out high fructose foods (pretty much all fruits except for things in the berry family, some veggies, all lentils) and high lactose dairy (can tolerate 1 cup of Greek yogurt per day and a serving of hard cheese like cheddar or provolone). Within 2 weeks the pot belly was gone, and within a month I had lost about 7 pounds.

You could look up a low FODMAPS diet and try eliminating different groups to see what's affecting you. If you really pay attention you'll probably notice trigger foods that make you feel slightly off in your day eating. For me, my nose got stuffy after eating dairy, avocados gave me diarrhea, orange juice gave me migraines, and sauces made my joints hurt.

Your probably right. I just dread the thought of cutting entire food groups out of my diet.

I did it and it's nice to lose a bit of weight. But- it came back because I wanted to eat things that I like again, it's a PITA to always watch what I eat. Now I'm concerned that it will always be a take off/put on circle and I can't imagine it's good for my body.

I lost the last five pounds. My tummy is always, always flat now. Unfortunately, my boobs went down like two sizes.

Doesn't happen to everyone. I am the 51 yo above you. I am a c cup which is what I have always been and they look great with a flat stomach.

The weight has to come from somewhere. I was 120, DD, and had nowhere close to a potbelly, but my stomach was only flat in the am.
Now I'm 115, C cup, with an always-flat stomach.

Would rather have the boobs.

So gain 5 lbs.

Or buy new ones.

I just read this article about yo yo dieting when you are already a healthy BMI, and it really hit home: https://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/wellness/yo-yo-dieting-isnt-just-counterproductive--it-could-put-you-at-risk/2017/03/27/329ecd90-0d9e-11e7-ab07-07d9f521f6b5_story.html?utm_term=.8548ea13b8aa

It's more important to think about healthy habits than to restrict food when you don't need to lose weight, because restricting food can end up backfiring on you.

Not questioning your decision, but restricting food is very different than cutting out cookies, biscotti, muffins, pancakes, etc.

Cutting out "all refined carbs" (sounds like what you are saying) definitely is restriction. If you can lose 5lbs easily by cutting out a muffin a week, sure go for it. But creating a calorie deficit to lose 5 lbs when you are already a normal BMI is likely going to take more than that.

Nobody said anything about "cutting out 'all refined carbs'" except you. OP specifically listed out cutting out cookies, biscotti, muffins, pancakes etc. Even if all of these were cut out of a diet, it wouldn't be considered a restricted diet.
