Not that I've seen, and I'm on FCAG's mailing list. FCPS doesn't release them until some submits a FOIA request, and FCAG always does the FOIA request.
Has any one seen the class of 2021 demographics? They usually release them with the admissions decisions (X number of kids applied, X admitted, male/female, race, FCPS/not, FARMs, etc). But, my Google skills got me nowhere.
TJ parent here, and I have hearing from people who heard from people who think (so quite possibly not true), that this year's class skewed more white/ less Asian than it has been in awhile, and relied more on subjective factors, less on test scores. I'm wondering if there is some surprise in the demographics that is going to upset everyone (like this being the year that AA and Hispanic kids just gave up and stopped applying, or a huge shift toward either white or Asian, or male vs female, or something else). If anyone has them, can you post them, or link to them? I'm pretty sure they came with my kid's acceptance info. Thanks!

Different mix of students that actually apply. There is growing group that has soured on TJ, and doesn't apply. The benefits of McLean and Langley override the benefits of TJ.
Anonymous wrote:TJ is classified as a governors school. I believe they receive some funding from the state and are thus required to admit students from multiple counties. Although i don't think loudon send 60 kids. that sounds high.
Anonymous wrote:Source for the numbers? They look almost identical to 2016. Are you sure it is this year? There is usually a lag in releasing MS numbers, because FCAG has to FOIA them.
Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:I understand why they don't, but it would be nice of FCAG FOIA's data from all of the middle school's which send applications into TJ, not just the FCPS ones. (Although I'm not certain if FCPS, as opposed to the TJ Admissions office, has data relating to other middle schools)
Typically, there are no schools outside FCPS that place more than 10 kids o TJ. The FCPS FOIA office redacts the numbers below 10, ostensibly on personal privacy grounds.

There were 3423 applicants for the class of 2016.
There were 2868 applicant for the class of 2020.
2020 is also the unusually small entering class, so there might have been something going on with that particular class. Wasn't there a change in the math part of the exam that year?
