I don't think not voting for Brown made someone a racist in and of itself. But it does raise my eyebrows when I hear a Dem didn't support the party ticket and oh, by the way, he just happened to be black.

Mmmm long-time DC/MD resident here as well. Not a republican, and can't stand there party half the time. Hogan is actually very popular, and I voted for him.

Nixon didn't appoint Ford, he was Speaker of the House.
Fabulously wrong. Nixon did appoint Ford. Ford was confirmed by the Senate. Ford wasn't speaker - Ford was Republican leader. They have this 25th Amendment that was taken so very literally at the time.

The so-called rain tax is a GOP stigma attached to dealing with a real problem. But go ahead and believe your fox news. In the meantime, all of the pollutants from the streets and fertilizers from the farms are strangling our rivers and there is no mechanism to deal with the problem.

This. Everyone doesn't move up a rung in the ladder if only the president is removed. The Speaker of the House doesn't come into play unless both the president and vice president are removed at the same time.
Spiro Agnew was Nixons VP. He was impeached and replaced by Gerald Ford, then speaker of the house. Nixon resigned, Ford became President. Please understand how this actually works.
