I was there. In 2004, I was 95% certain it would be the last time I saw my mom. She was in failing heath. I told her I loved her. That was in April. We got on the plane in monday, wed. night, she coded at home. My Father revived her, and she lived for two more weeks.
My regret was I almost flew out for mothers day. But, my wife wanted to spend it wither her mom. My family did not want me to spend the $$$ flying out. So I did not. Flew out a week later...leaving the house at 5:00 AM with my suit pre-packed.
The night before she sounded ok. She was reading a book, and she sounded like her self. Damn, I miss my mom. I hate this thread.

Daddy, you died when I was 11. You seemed old to me then, but now I'm older than you ever were-- and I realize you were so young. You must have been so scared to leave me behind before I was grown. But I want you to know, you were the best dad. I remember you as clearly as if I saw you yesterday. Your intelligence, sense of humor and bravery have always stayed in my heart. I've had some hard times in my life, and made some bad choices, but through it all, I've felt your presence. I will always miss you and love you.
