I edit my own clothes and throw then out when they are no longer serviceable. I gave up years ago caring how I look, or what other people think about me. I'm comfortable in my own skin and I'm not looking for validation from other people even my wife, she can make commits and I'll listen to her suggestions but the final decision is mine as to what I wear.

No, I would never do this. He is an adult. He can choose how to dress. I would be upset if he threw out something of mine. He would be upset if I threw out something of his. It is not my place to do that.
I will, however, tell him if something doesn’t look right on him or if something is really out of style and needs to be thrown out or donated. It is his choice whether to do this.
He will do the same with me.
