I know a Kiyan (boy) and a Keyonna (girl). If I met a Caiyun (pronounced Kai Yoon or Cayenne) I'd assume pretentious, stupid, or not white.

But really I'd think the parents should have picked something else.

Yes. But still pretentious as hell. Cai is a family name--is it yours? Why run the two together like that? So people won't know you're naming your kid Janedoe or Susanjohnson?

It's all about context. If you are White I would imagine you're being pretentious. If I see somebody have a different race then I would assume it's an ethnic name.

The child I know with a very, very, very similar name - one parent is from a Spanish-speaking country, the other parent is from a Muslim country (trying to be as vague as possible here).
