Or don't purchase from the registry. Problem solved. I don't understand guests that complain about a registry at all. Some couples have been on their own for a while and have what they need.

I have formal service for 10 (inherited not via registry). I love it but could easily use 6 more settings for entertaining. We don't, however, use the silver. Ever.

Not a fan of the honeymoon registries. I reluctantly bought a gift from o e this summer and received a form thank you email from the website. It's just tacky.

The Hermes butter dish is hysterical. Had to google image that one.

When the whole wedding registry is a registry for the honeymoon. We were just invited to a wedding where they are clearly hoping that their guests will fund the entire honeymoon. It's not just a few activities at the location they're going to. It's the five figure airfare and lodging, too. Oh, and spending money so they can buy "keepsakes". Plus all of the activities they want to do.

Granted, they've been living together for a little over a year now and I will say I know they're not having a huge wedding (they are funding that themselves with no help from their parents), but something about it still rubs me the wrong way. If it was just the activities I don't think I would judge quite as much.

Yea, I definitely wish people hadn't gotten us random knock off of stuff on our registry, but I'm not about to be so rude as to publish a rule forbidding it. Better to be gracious and return or donate it.

I tend to spend around $150-200 for weddings if they are not close friends or family. What annoys me is when they have something like one wine glass or napkin ring that costs $150.

Either pick cheaper wine glasses so someone can get you a set of 4 for under $200 or add a bunch of things that make sense to be expensive one item gifts.

It's ridiculous to ship out one freaking napkin ring as a gift.
