It took us nine months even with charting, temping, checking CM, using OPKs, etc.

Nope. Kept trying off and on for 5 years and ended up with spontaneous twins.

Trying to conceive is defined as unprotected sex. Infertility is trying to conceive for 12 or more cycles (for those under35.) and it does NOT include opks, temping, checking cervical position and mucus, laying with your hips up etc... Yes, a lot of us on here do those things (I was infertile at 26,) but it is not required under the standard definition of "trying."

Yes. TTC #2, started at 36. Tried for 6 months without success. Then did about 5-7 IUIs without success after being diagnosed with unexplained infertility to slight male factor. Round 1 of ivf failed. Round 2 of ivf worked. Incidentally #1 was conceived on the first try at 33 so we were not expecting this at all!

I'm PP at 12:45. I was charting with temps and OPK, but the crazy cycles I was having were a strong clue that we needed medical intervention. In the 8 months between our last IUI and IVF, my cycles regulated somewhat and I ovulated on my own. I used temps and OPK to target peak fertile window for 6 of those 8 months, and it still didn't work for me.
