You know that the flu is caused by a virus, not failing to eat right or exercise or going on vacation, right? It's her time to use as she pleases. Being annoyed is one thing. Asking for legal options to do something about it is completely different.

For what it's worth, the person in my office who did this is a senior partner. She gave the flu to our receptionist, by standing around coughing and sneezing at the reception desk while contagious. Doctor told her not to come to work. She ignored the instruction.

Or the OP has a different boss and can tele work, but usually, admin's work for multiple people.

Maybe she was forced to come in sick. What if she called in and her boss said no you must come in or you are fired.

Things you could advocate for:

-policy that allows people who have a sick note saying they are able to work but contagious to telework
-more leave
-a policy that doesn't allow people to use up all their yearly leave in one go
-a different accrual model (we get half our days as a block at the beginning of the fiscal year and then accrue the rest monthly)
-a system that divides PTO into vacation/sick/personal and doesn't allow sick days to be rolled into vacation
-a policy that people with whatever symptoms have to wear a mask

+1. OP must be a miserable person in real life and an even more miserable employee / coworker. Who cares what the admin used her leave for? It's her f'ing choice, not yours. You don't want to be around someone who is sick? Go. The. Hell. Home. Yourself. You have no idea that she has the flu. It could be allergies (given the warmer weather here), it could just be the common cold. There is nothing you can legally say or do. But I suggest that when you have a moment, you pull that big stick out your butt. Psycho.

Please file a formal complaint with your HR department. Then be sure to let us know what their response is.

There is something seriously wrong with you, OP. You have to know that right? When everyone in a thread is telling you you are nuts, it might be time to consider that you are the one with the problem. You either need therapy or a dose of reality. Either way, I feel very sorry for the people who have to work with you. By all means, complain to HR. Maybe they'll find a reason to fire you.
